ERIN CAPPS

Hitting & Catching Instructor — Softball & Baseball

Erin Capps brings over 25 years of coaching experience to the Sacramento Athletic Center, specializing in hitting, catching, and college preparation for both softball and baseball athletes. A lifelong student of the game, Erin’s coaching philosophy centers on understanding how each athlete learns best. She doesn’t teach a “swing”—she teaches players how to hit.

Erin loves working with athletes of all levels who are committed to their own growth and development, helping them build both skill and confidence at the plate. Her individualized approach has guided more than 100 players to compete at the collegiate level.

A standout athlete herself, Erin’s playing career highlights include:

  • CIF Southern Section Champion, La Habra High School (1981)

  • ALL CIF (1980, 1981)

  • Orange County Player of the Year (1981)

  • Four-year letter winner, Oregon State University (1982–1985)

  • NCAA All-American (1983) – the first in OSU softball history

  • OSU Career Records at graduation: hits, singles, doubles, triples (2nd in RBI, still holds record for triples)

  • Inducted into the Oregon State University Athletic Hall of Fame (2006)

Erin previously served as varsity coach at La Habra High School and as a coach and board member with All American Sports Academy.

She holds a B.S. in Kinesiology from Oregon State University and is also a Certified Human Resources Professional (PHR). Beyond the diamond, Erin serves as COO of Emerald Technology Consulting.
